Imitation can lead to qualitative creation? The interesting tension between reproduction and production was the main focus of our practice evening on November 19 in Hasselt. Ron Claessens and Roeland Aerts start the discussion table with stories from practice. They work with young people themselves, but they also educate (arts) educators. Their stories serve as a starting point for a discussion on reproduction and production in arts education. The participants decided after a lively discussion that both production and reproduction are valuable.
The ratio between the two is dependent on many factors. It was certainly an exciting evening about quality in arts education. Highly recommended for our youth art communities.
